Prior to commencing a shoot, we can sit down and discuss your requirements to ensure your final selection of images meet their brief. I'll be more than happy to conduct this discussion via phone or email if it will be more convenient for you to do so.
In a portrait, your surroundings can provide context and communicate crucial elements of your profession. Considered lighting allows even the most functional of work areas to become compelling locations in which to shoot. I will most commonly conduct the session at your premises for this reason. I cover the south west London areas and will happily travel further. Travel costs may apply in such cases.
If your premises really aren't suited to the brief, I can also set up a studio environment on site. This can be provided at no extra charge and can be discussed during our correspondence prior to the session.
As a final alternative, studio hire in the south west London area can be arranged. Hire fees may apply.
This depends on the brief, but on average a single-subject shoot will last between 1-2 hours. It is also possible to photograph multiple colleagues in this time and I can advise on whether this is viable or if a longer shoot will be required.
The single most important part of preparing to be photographed is to make sure that you're comfortable. Give a little thought to the clothes you might wear ahead of time. Plain colours or subtle patterns will work best, though try to avoid pastel tones if possible. Above all, choose an outfit that you feel confident in and I'll take care of the rest. You are of course welcome to use multiple outfits throughout the session.
Absolutely! In this job I've shot everything from actor profiles in the studio to rock band promo images on hotel roofs. If you have an idea of how your images should look then do let me know. I'll be happy to use my experience and help you develop them into a reality.
During a shoot I will capture as many images as is necessary to go through the editorial process and deliver a stunning final selection of photographs. After the session, I will provide a series of proof images from which I'll ask you to make your final selection. I will then make the appropriate adjustments to these images before delivering them to you in a digital format.
My basic rate allows for a final selection of 5 images for a single subject. Greater quantities can of course be arranged.
Your final selection of images will be fully adjusted to account for colour balance, exposure, cropping and use in web or print environments.
In addition to my photographic skills, I am also an experienced retoucher. Careful use of such techniques to tidy blemishes and smooth skin tones is integral to my work. Once finished, a retouched portrait will appear clean, flattering and importantly, un-edited.
My fee provides a license for you to use your images to your heart's desire. You are free to use them for online profiles, company websites and print campaigns. You can even share them with friends or pop them on this year's Christmas card.
I retain ownership and copyright of all my photographs unless otherwise arranged. You are not allowed to sell your images onto third parties such as stock libraries or enter them into competitions.
I am based in Kingston Upon Thames, south west London. I serve the south west London area though will happily travel further. In such instances travel costs may apply.
Please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org or call me on 07793 009114 for bookings.
As with any service that adapts itself to each appointment, my fee will vary depending on the complexity of a job. That said, my charges are based on a basic rate of £150 for a 1-2 hour shoot of a single subject and subsequent delivery of 5 fully adjusted images. Having discussed your requirements I will of course provide a quote prior to commencing a shoot.
Again, this can vary depending on the requirements of a job. On average however, the lead time from photo shoot to final image delivery is 2-3 weeks subject to availability.
Certainly not! Portraiture is my first love, though I also provide expert photographic services for events, parties, company profiles and weddings. Do please get in touch if you would like to discuss any of these services.
I offer a comprehensive range of professionally printed products to enhance the character of foyers, meeting rooms, corridors and studios. All prints are made to an archival standard, ensuring they will maintain their impact throughout years of use.
My standard practice will be to provide copies of your images in two file formats;
- High resolution (approx. 4000px across their longest edge) JPEG files for use in print. These files will be saved in their native Adobe RGB colour space.
- Low resolution (approx. 1024px across their longest edge) JPEG files for use on the web. In order to make these files more browser compliant, they will have been converted to the sRGB colour space.
Alternative file formats or colour spaces can be provided at your request.
I currently use a combination of Nikon professional digital SLR bodies and Nikkor prime/zoom lenses. More importantly, I use multiple flash units and light modifiers to create a range of looks best suited to you as the client.
For situations where a studio will be set up, an area of around 2m x 2m is recommended.
While I strongly recommend you have your own backup measures in place to protect important files, I do keep an archive of all prior work. Though I can not take responsibility for your files once they are in your possession, it may be possible to resupply files from my archive on request.
